"You need a musication"

Let's give you a musication. Being stuck in isolation can be quite draining so let's get you out of your funk! This list of musicals will have you dancing on your table, grooving down your hallway or singing on your balcony for all your neighbours to hear. Get out your tissues and ice-cream because you will be crying happy and sad tears.

Grease, nearly every woman out there loves this film. From bad boy Danny, and Australian good girl Sandy to their final days as seniors at Rydell High was a whirlwind of action. Bringing you catchy songs that we all know and love: "Your the one that I want" and "Grease lightning," this 1978 classic hit will have you shouting "Grease is the word."

This 1998 cult classic brings together one of America's sweethearts, Drew Barrymore with one of the top US comedians, Adam Sandler. The Wedding Singer is a heartfelt but laugh out loud comedy with the most memorable scene being where Robbie (played by Sandler) serenades Julia (Barrymore) on the plane, with a surprise appearance by an 80s pop idol (you must watch to be surprised).

Burlesque (2010) was not a critics favourite, but heavy hitting musical talents Cher and Christina Aguilera lit this movie on fire. Small town Iowan girl follows her dreams to the bright lights of Los Angeles. Will she meet a boy and fall in love? This movie may be predicable, but the incredible soundtrack makes Burlesque an ambitious and entertaining must watch musical.

QUEEN! Everyone's go to karaoke band. Bohemian Rhapsody (2018) celebrates the friendship and music of one of the most revered bands of the 70s and 80s.

Frontman Freddie Mercury, incredibly portrayed by Rami Malek, gave an iconic and anticipated musical performances at the 1985 Live Aid concert which was seemlessly recreated as the opening and closing scene of the film. What's to follow is the success and downfall of this legendary band.

Set in Los Angeles in 1987, Rock of Ages (2012) based off the Tony nominated musical, follows the life of small town girl Sherrie and and big city boy Drew, as they pursue their Hollywood dreams. This movie is brimming with talent, but Tom Cruise as fictional rock legend Stacee Jaxx is unstoppable. His performance of the 80s hits "Paradise City," "Wanted dead or alive" and "I want to know what love is" will have you amazed as this is truly his voice. Who knew that "Maverick" could sing!

1926, Chicago (2002) set in the jazz age about two classy but murderesses Roxie Hart (Zellweger) and Velma Kelly. (Zeta-Jones) Bound together in jail awaiting trail for the crimes against their lying and cheating partners. All the while, high profile defence attorney Billy Flynn (Richard Gere) takes to his advantage of an opportunity, becoming counsellor for both cases. From opening beat "All that Jazz" through to the electrifying "Cellblock Tango" it has incredible performances from all three leads that gives a strong culture when it comes to belting out a tune, or doing the hot step that does justice to the era.

Other fantastic musicals to check out while stuck in isolation might even get a song or two stuck in your head and an idea for a new tiktok. But beware you may need a partner to sing along the lyrics with.
